Park amenities include a dog run, playground and popular tennis courts, all with incredible panoramic views of San Francisco. Additionally, a $5.3 Million renovation was completed in 2017. The original plan was to update the irrigation systems, but the project expanded into adding new trees, new walking paths, and even a new bathroom near the playground. The renovation truly demonstrates the passion and pride Alamo Square residents take in their neighborhood.
The streets are lined with some of the city's finest examples of Victorian architecture, as this area was the nexus of a preservation boom that swept the city in the 1970s. Centrally located, residents have easy access to freeways and downtown; the Central Freeway 101 is just one mile from Alamo Square, making it easy to commute to/from the Silicon Valley. Since the neighborhood is centrally located, downtown and several popular neighborhoods and landmarks are within a short ride on one of several Muni lines that service the area. Presidio and Industrial Light and Magic are only a 30 minute ride away, as are the Financial District and Google Headquarters.
When it's time to unwind, you can visit one of the growing number of hip restaurants, clubs, bar, or bistros that line lively Divisadero Street. Some of the local favorites in the area include:
